Traditionaly we use Finite Difference (FD- Modflow), Finite Elements (FE-Feflow) and recently not gridded (Voronoi - Modflow) softwares for groundwater modeling. This is called Numeric Modeling. Numeric modeling is standart, difficult and time consuming method.
