Если вы по-прежнему уверены, что даже самые продвинутые в техническом плане роботы-гуманоиды, конструкция которых схожа со строением скелета человека, являются жутко медлительными и неуклюжими, то Boston Dynamics готова поспорить с вами. В действительности человекоподобные автоматизированные механизмы ввиду ряда трудностей при попытке сымитировать привычные нам движения испытывали затруднения — все их действия были нерасторопными, неточными и порой даже курьёзными. Однако новое поколение робота Atlas на своём примере демонстрирует, каких успехов в обозначенном направлении достиг ведомый Google роботостроитель и какое будущее нас может ожидать в скором времени.
О возможностях модифицированной версии Atlas стало известно благодаря загруженному командой разработчиков ролику на YouTube. На протяжении трёх минут робот, опирающийся как и человек на две конечности, проделывает прежде немыслимые и даже фантастические вещи. Сначала устройство самостоятельно покидает штаб-квартиру Boston Dynamics, пройдя по коридору здания и открыв дверь для выхода из него, а затем Atlas странствует уже по реальному бездорожью.
Обновлённый робот Atlas в отличие от своих предшественников обладает полноценной автономностью: все действия робот выполняет за счёт питания от аккумуляторных батарей. При этом даже перемещение по заснеженной поверхности практически не сказывается на темпе движения «машины», которая хоть и спотыкается о возникающие на пути препятствия и проваливается в сугробы, но при этом уверенно сохраняет равновесие.
Atlas научился не только ходить прямо и не падать, но и справляться с такими задачами, как погрузка ящиков на полки. И делает это он, стоит заметить, весьма профессионально, даже несмотря на многочисленные попытки авторов проекта сбить робота с толку.

Во время просмотра ролика я так и не смог отделаться от ощущения, что это трюк и внутри сидит человек или все это управляется по Wi-Fi. Ну не может так машина делать! Это же уже довольно близко к «Звёздным войнам». Я так и ждал подсознательно, как робот отнимет клюшку и наваляет этому бородачу! И ещё. Полагаю, это видео таки надо удалить с YouTube - когда робот выходит из лесу он реально напоминает наших алкашей - и лет через пятьдесят роботы могут его использовать в суде как доказательство угнетения предков!

Genesis is an easy to use 1D basin modeling software. Formerly developed at ARCO, it won the Outstanding Technical Achievement Award. It has many technical advances not found in other commercial 1D models. For example, its full lithosphere thermal model allows prediction of heat flow away from well control and through geological time. Genesis works with Trinity to become part of your complete petroleum systems workflow.
KINEX is a quick source rock maturation modeling tool for predicting expelled products and GOR from a source rock with inter-bedded organo-facies ( geochemical log). It features drag and drop interactivity and professional graphical output. Over 40 different maturation parameters are predicted including oil and gas expelled, GOR, vitrinite reflectance, and properties of expelled products such as density and interfacial tension, etc.
Trinity ushers in the next generation of petroleum system analysis. It is a map based tool that allows users to interactively model maturation and migration, predict charge volumes and composition, analyze phase/pvt properties, calculate column heights and reserves. Proprietary algorithms allow Trinity to Monte Carlo the risks involved in charge prediction with mapped variables. Features include dynamic cross section, instant geohistory and 3D visualization.
Trinity 3D is for interactive 3D migration, tracking hydrocarbon volumes and composition in 3D, through time, along faults, unconformities, and through salt welds.

Genesis sets itself apart from other commercial 1D software with advanced theories as well as ease of use.
Genesis models the full lithosphere in the transient thermal model so heat flow can be predicted away from well control and through geological time.
A source rock facies data base to link lithofacies with kinetic models. Genesis will provide a mixture of analog kinetics parameters to best describe your source rock.
Modified/Improved Rift heat flow modeling to account for radiogenic heat component loss during rifting. The traditional models over-predict heat flow and maturity in such basins.
Lithology mixing in Genesis is unique. The different lithologies in a formation are handled as truly inter-bedded layers, while other 1D models just average the parameters to make up a new lithology for each formation.
Genesis handles complex geology such as thrusting, faulting, salt movement in the PDE solver directly so all the effects are simulated. Some of the competitor products can only mimic the geometry change but not the processes.
Modifed/Improved the quartz cementation model developed by Walderhaug (1994) and made it available by the click of a button.
